Cenotaph

cenotaph |ˈsenəˌtaf|noun:a tomblike monument to someone buried elsewhere, esp. one commemorating people who died in a war.

Another sketch of bits and pieces of the monument. I was still sitting behind the cenotaph in the park. Trying to get the forms and volume. Its nicer to sit in among the trees. When I do get around to sitting in front to draw the soldier there I will have to tolerate the busy road, lots of traffic, non-stop actually, all day and night, you might be mistaken and think this is a metropolis. But its just a small typical Canadian town where everyone has 3 cars and a harley davidson motorcycle to play with on the week-end. Noisy, hot, polluted. It was 30 degrees today and its still March. There should be snow on the ground still.

Thanks. And yes its very strange weather. We have also had thunder and lightening while its snowing. Something I didn’t think was possible. I like dramatic weather, but extreme heat makes it difficult to working outside.
