Burning down the house.

If you read the previous post you will see I just couldn’t stop where I was. I had the knife in my hand, and this painting for the play ‘Fall of the House of Usher’ is actually a lot of fun to paint.

A friend just mentioned that there’s not much house left to burn. The theatre should come and take this off my hands before it turns into a complete inferno.

The house is on fire.

Even more on fire, and there are no firemen….

This is one of those times when you can’t decide if its finished or not. I think I’m finished with this one for the local theatre’s production of ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’. Maybe even more red.

Details of ‘Greed’, I study my own work, what a surprise, and now I feel this image is more about what greed does, rather than what greed looks like. Greed can look very attractive too. I’ll have to try again.

Telling people they must fix the damage we caused by themselves now, after the fact, that they would feel better if they did, is a denial that the western democracies did anything wrong. It might be true, but its also a lie. Its like the rapist saying ” There, there, that wasn’t so bad was it? Now go away and don’t tell anybody!”

Extreme doodling? Next I will be stretching this piece of watercolour paper to a plywood panel. Soaked in water then stapled and left to dry again. I will be working into it with watercolour first, then acrylic. I’ll post more of the process as I go along.
